Planned and Run by Teachers
As teachers we know that even after a week out of school students can start to lose some of the progress they have during term time. Our aim is to create camps where students continue to solve problems, be resilient, learn new skills and have fun!
Keeping children engaged and learning over a term break will ensure they are ready to learn when they are back in the classroom.
The founders
Gemma Burns
Head of DT and DT teacher at Frensham Heights School
Through my teaching I share the love of designing and making. My passion in life is striving to live and work sustainably and this permeates into my personal lifelong learning as well as my career. I purposely nurture positivity, resilience and independence to empower the students to gain practical and problem-solving skills which they can rely on or life. I coach students to be confident and have an enquiring mind which allows them to experience and tackle real world problems.
Lauren Gillespie
Former Head of Mathematics & Maths Teacher at Howard of Effingham School
I love teaching and I love Maths. The most fun I’ve had over my years as a teacher is when I had the opportunity to take children out of the classroom and experience Maths in the real world. My dream is to infuse every camp with learning beyond the classroom walls.
